Intrinsic Arts is a fire performance troupe and artist collective. We started as a fire troupe in the fall of 2009. We have members trained with poi, double staffs, rope dart, hoop, and fans. We have been performing together for the past three years, with some of our members having been involved in the fire performance arts for the better part of a decade. We have experience performing at indoor and outdoor venues at events ranging from corporate and private parties, to town fairs and music & arts festivals. We are insured, bring all of our own safety equipment, and are trained in fire safety management. We teach private lessons and workshops. We strive to share, expand, and inspire the fire spinning community to continue evolving.
In the spring of 2011 Intrinsic Arts decided to take a huge step forward by beginning to incorporate art in all of its forms. We started hand making artisan jewelry, tie dying, and screen printing. We spent the summer traveling the Midwest performing and showcasing our art. The fall came with a sense of contentment and a yearning for new paths to continue our journey. We began making fire and practice props over the winter. For the summer of 2012, we added a couple new spinners and a painter to our collective. We are excited for the summer and the inspiration that it holds.
